Dan G. McNicholl

As chief information officer for General Motors North America, Daniel McNicholl is responsible for all information technology and systems, including areas of engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and business services. His duties include leading the information technology organization to a position where technology can bring a competitive advantage to GM, using technology to reduce the time it takes to develop products and bring them to market, developing more sophisticated systems to track and analyze customer behavior, and taking advantage of advances in electronic commerce and the Internet. Prior to joining GM in 1997, he was vice president and general manager of Whirlpool's global air treatment business and had previously served as Whirlpool's vice president of information systems.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Pratt University in Brooklyn, New York, a Master of Science degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in computer science from the Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly UMR) and a Master of Business Administration degree from Washington University in St. Louis. |
